It’s seems like anytime I pick up any of my favorite rags, there is always a review of Melodium in there somewhere and they’re usually pretty good ones. Having never heard them before this track, I was pleasantly surprised at the eloquence of their musical expression. I instantly was attracted to it and it took me back in time to childhood memories of staring out rainy windows on roadtrips and laying in the grass gazing at the clouds in the sky. I’m still a skygazer, but I can’t ever seem to return to the time when my mind was unclouded by the worries of when rent is due, what time I need to work in the morning, how anybody ever voted for George Bush, and why Barack Obama will probably not get elected with everybody swearing up and down that it had nothing to do with race. It seems that only children get the comfort of watching the world with unadulterated awe and wonder. Just as I was realizing this video’s effects on me, they showed an image of a boy riding a bike with training wheels. Whether it is the artists intent or the video maker’s interpretation of the music, there is something vary soothing about this song that makes it seem almost like a forgotten lullaby. Goodnight!
