DMC is the competition where scratch DJ’s from all over the world compete to see who is the world champion. Most of the people performing have been competing for years and have mastered their craft. So you can imagine the shockwave that was sent through the hip hop nation when a 15 year old boy going by the name A-Trak, actually won. You can even see one of the judges laughing behind his fist, as he sat in awe of this kids skills. That is a laugh of disbelief or maybe just realizing that a new era had begun and what had won in the past would simply no longer be enough to pull it off. Time to practice harder to keep up with the kids if you know what I mean. Even as A-Traks successful career continues, this is the video I always think of. It blew me away then just as it does now.
