Meredith Bragg Releases Live Video for “Next Time” off John James Audubon-Inspired Full Length Nest
“lyrics that are as sharp as they are mesmerizing” - Paste
“Bragg’s songwriting has grown more acute since his debut, but more impressive is the development
of his sound.”- Pitchfork
“Bragg is adept at the arresting musical understatement, crafting his winsome indie-pop with electronic flourishes and impressionistic turns of phrase on “Nest” - UTNE Reader
DC-based songwriter Meredith Bragg has released a live performance music video of the track “Next Time” off of his recently released full length, Nest, with The Kora Records. The video was directed by Bragg and his brother Austin in an Arlington, VA backyard under a full summer moon. Bragg plays guitar and Elizabeth Olsen stoically accompanies him on the cello. Watch the live video for “Next Time” at YouTube or the Death + Taxes premiere.
In his latest release, Bragg pulls from a stream of inspirations including John James Audubon (“Birds of North America”) and Renaissance architecture (“The Last Hours of Brunelleschi”), but his biggest influence was the recent birth of his daughter, and the themes of parenthood (although initially unintended) are ever present throughout the album. Teaming up with long time collaborator and producer Chad Clark(Dismemberment Plan, Georgie James, Beauty Pill), Nest is his most engaging and expansive record to date.
Meredith Bragg Live
